24-04_michelin_b2b_tld_reg_vecto_en 1726731999 The aim of European regulation for Heavy-duty vehicles is to reduce CO2 emissions and help the road transport sector to combat climate change. Heavy-duty Vehicles produce over 6% of total EU green house gas emissions (1). > VECTO is the new simulation tool that has been developed by the European Commission and is used for determining CO2 emissions and Fuel Consumption from Heavy Duty Vehicles. > All new vehicles registered in the EU must be accompanied by a VECTO certificate that is based on data entered by the manufacturer when leaving the factory. WHAT ABOUT VECTO? WHO IS CONCERNED? (1) Source: European Environment Agency (EEA). (2) With a base line for Trucks (2019) and for Coaches, Buses, Semi-trailers & Trailers (2024) and considering energy efficiency targets for trailers & semi-trailers. The EU revises its targets for reducing CO2 emissions upwards A VECTO CERTIFICATE IS: • Created for each vehicle • Distributed to the End User • Transmitted to the EU commission By the OE Manufacturer VEHICLE SPECIFIC PARAMETERS STANDARDISED PARAMETERS Vehicle Macro Config • Type of chassis • Type of Cabin • Engine Power Payloads / Mileages • Depending on vehicle macro type definition Driving parameters • Type of usage • Usage of speed / accelerations / brakings vEHICLE ENERGY CONSUMPTION CALCULATION TOOL Engine performance (load/speed) Aerodynamic drag Tyre rolling resistance Alignment of axles Efficiency of transmission Heavy trucks (6x2 and 4x2) Heavy trucks (6x4 and 8x4) Medium trucks (4x2) Heavy-trucks (4x2) Coaches Buses Semi trailers Trailers >16t >16t >16t >16t All weights All weights All weights 5t-7.4t 5t-7.4t 7.4t-16t >8 seats >8 seats >3.5t >3.5t -30% -45% -90% -90% -10% -7.5% -100%-65% -15% CO2 emission reduction targets by segment(2) Heavy trucks (6x2 and 4x2) Heavy trucks (6x4 and 8x4) Medium trucks (4x2) Heavy trucks (4x2) Coaches Buses Semi- trailers Trailers 2025 2030 2030 2035 2040 New
